2011 European Skating Championship: It’s Rollertop Yet Again!

Marche is at the centre of the international skating world! From 16 – 23 July, Macerata and Pollenza will be hosting the European Track and Road Speed Skating Championship for Cadets and Juniors under 18. The event which was presented today at a press conference at the Macerata Municipal Council Chamber, is sponsored by Marche Region, Macerata Province and CONI and is organised by A.S.D. Rotellistica Juvenilia in collaboration with the Municipalities of Macerata and Pollenza, on award of the European Racing Federation and the Italian Hockey and Skating Federation. 28 countries will be competing with more than 200 young athletes who will challenge each other on the “Gilda Leoperdi” Track at Casette Verdini, Pollenza (for the track races from 16 to 18 July), surfaced with Casali’s Rollertop Competition and on the road circuit at the Macerata Diaz Gardens (for the road races from 20 to 23 July) in speed and cross-country races. Qualifications, semi-finals and finals include 60 races. The event will be broadcast live by RAI SPORT, RAI SPORT 2 and TVRS and all races will be broadcast in live streaming by the website of the Italian Hockey and Skating Federation www.fihp.org
